The two sobbing boys, naked but for a scrim of grime, wrapped their arms and legs around Laurie Rockwell Sharma ’92 and held fast. “One was maybe a year old and the other, maybe 3. And they looked up at me with their big brown eyes and they were saying something, and I didn’t know what they were saying,” Laurie remembers. “And I looked down at them and it just broke my heart.”
When Laurie Sharma taught herself to sew and make her own saddle pads in 2004, she had no idea how much her life, and the lives of hundreds of poor children in India, would change as a result. Her company, Equine Couture, took off. While at a trade show in 2006, she met her future husband, Timmy Sharma. He also owned an equestrian apparel company.
PC Equestrian is pleased to announce the launch of its Halo brand of dog products. The Halo brand is debuting with 6 Holiday themed dog collars. Each collar is made out of beautiful leather and has a quality brass buckle and keeper. The embroidered overlays feature a choice of Santa hats, Christmas trees, Holiday wreaths, Snowflakes, Candy canes and Seasonal stripes.
Timmy and Laurie Sharma, owners of JPC Equestrian, give back in a big way by donating some of their profits to the Salvation Tree Foundation, a charity that provides education to hundreds of children in India.
